  • 150 grams unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts, chopped roughly (or into bits)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom seeds
  1. Preheat oven to 180-degrees C (350-degrees F).
  2. Grind cardamom seeds. You can use a mortar and pestle or a mini food processor to do this.
  3. Combine butter and sugar. Mix well.
  4. Add hazelnuts, flour, baking powder and cardamom. Combine and mix until a dough is formed.
  5. Place dough between two baking sheets and flatten with a rolling pin. Do this until you get desired thinness of the dough.
  6. Cut dough into cookie shapes. Place each cookie on a pan with a baking sheet.
  7. Place pan in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how thick the cookies are. Take pan out of the oven once the cookies are turning a bit golden (or darker).
  8. Let cookies cool for at least 15 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with more cardamom (if desired). Serve.
