Swedish Hazelnut & Cardamom Cookies

unsalted butter, room temperature
hazelnuts, chopped roughly (or into bits)
Preheat oven to 180-degrees C (350-degrees F).
Grind cardamom seeds. You can use a mortar and pestle or a mini food processor to do this.
Combine butter and sugar. Mix well.
Add hazelnuts, flour, baking powder and cardamom. Combine and mix until a dough is formed.
Place dough between two baking sheets and flatten with a rolling pin. Do this until you get desired thinness of the dough.
Cut dough into cookie shapes. Place each cookie on a pan with a baking sheet.
Place pan in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how thick the cookies are. Take pan out of the oven once the cookies are turning a bit golden (or darker).
Let cookies cool for at least 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with more cardamom (if desired). Serve.
