Thanks for dropping by!
I hope you like what you’ve seen so far.
I have always liked food — but my appreciation and fascination with it reached an entirely different level when I met my Italian husband.
Traveling across all the regions of Italy was just an eye-opener for me; there is always something new to discover in every city and town.
That made me even more curious to find out about other countries and their cuisines.
Hence, we try to travel to different places constantly, and for every dish that I come across in all these journeys, I aim to share them with you in this blog.
While there are various cuisines covered in the blog, there are four that are understandably close to my heart (and probably the most number of posts!):
- Filipino cuisine. I was born and raised in Manila, so even if I asked my Mom now and then how she cooks some of these Filipino dishes — salty, sweet, and sour are the flavors that I inherently know.
- Italian cuisine. There is not a single day that I don’t make something Italian, even if it’s just Piadina; plus, we stay in Emilia–Romagna for weeks every Easter and summer.
These visits to my husband’s families are always a precursor to traveling to other parts of Italy — it doesn’t matter whether we’ve already been there before or not (did someone say, Napoli?). 🙂
- German cuisine. We lived in Frankfurt for some time, and I tell you, that city is smacked in the center of a lot of good stuff.
It has direct flights (and comfortable train journeys to any part of Germany and France) — and the famous wine regions of Mosel and Baden.
Oh! And I still need to start on the traditional German dishes! 🙂
- Swedish cuisine. I have been residing in Stockholm since 2007, so yes, this is already home for me.
Admittedly, aside from the pastries, it took a while for me to warm up to Swedish food — but that is entirely my fault.
Just like the rest of the Nordic cuisines, it has its own charm and character.
So don’t be like me; give it a try. You will not regret it!
