I work full time in the finance industry, so I am maintaining this blog on the side. Why am I doing that? Because I find enjoyment and relaxation in the kitchen. 🙂 I feel all the stress melt away when I am cooking or tinkering with a recipe. I love trying local dishes in every place that we visit and I am always excited (it never fails!) to dabble with those same dishes once we’re back home.
The recipes in this blog will not be focused on Filipino dishes. In fact, I think I have cooked more Italian dishes than Filipino. This is because my husband is of Italian descent and since he is the major ‘taster’ in the team (of two 🙂 ), I tend to lean towards the path of less resistance. 🙂
I have always liked food, but I have always stayed on the sidelines. I prefer to just watch and wait for the food to be ready. (There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that either! 🙂 ) But all those changed when my husband took me to Italy for a vacation. It was like a whole new world of food (and WINE!) opened right before my very eyes (I know, so DRAMATIC!? 😉 ). Seriously, seeing and experiencing the food in Italy made me realize that I don’t just like food, I LOVE food! And not just to eat them; I LOVE to prepare and cook them, and seeing other people’s reaction once they get to try what’s on the plate. 🙂
I do not claim to be an expert in cooking. I have not done any official training, nor have I attended any culinary school. On top of eating local cuisines when we’re travelling, I just watch a lot of cooking shows and videos, read a lot of cookbooks and then off I go, attempting to do it in the kitchen.
Just like me, this blog is a ‘work-in-progress’, so please bear with me. However, I do hope that you will try some of my recipes and let me know how it goes! 😀
Oh! Lastly, if you have any questions or concerns regarding this site, please do not hesitate to send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. I will try to address your mail as soon as I can. 🙂
